How awesome is Brett Netson?
Pretty f@#king awesome and that’s why he’s on this episode of Sock Monkey Sound. The former Caustic Resin leader and Built to Spill guitarist released his first solo album this year titled Simple Work For The Dead (The New Black). As usual with our guests, we have a frank and open conversation with Brett about everything ranging from music, politics, social ills, Doug Martsch; you know… stuff.
And Bob Dylan.

Thanks for the kind words Walter, they really do mean a lot.
This is some great stuff. And it reaches me all the way in the boonies of Western New York State, which tickles me to no end. I appreciate Netson’s thoughts on the manufacturing of music with only economic viability in mind and without concern for quality or artistic integrity. I’ve been listening to Netson’s new album and looked into The Drones. It’s all real good stuff.
Also Brett Netson has a badass beard. I mean c’mon, he looks like a fucking Civil War general with that thing.
