RockyPolyvinyl Records is releasing a Rocky Votolato and Matt Pond PA split 7 limited to a pressing of only 500 copies on transparent blue vinyl. Votolato and Matt Pond PA have been touring together recently and recorded a unique cover of The Human League’s Don’t You Want Me Baby for The AV Club Undercover series. This series of events is what led to the 7-inch collaboration according to Polyvinyl’s website. You can buy it here.

According to Drowned in Sound Grandaddy is re-releasing their epic ablum from 2000 The Sophtware Slump on Universal/V2 Records. I had no idea it was out of print! I’ve been lugging around a beat up copy of the disc that I found used at a Disc-Go-Round back in 2000. This new version will have a selection of b-sides and rarities to beef up the release of the album and I will be one of the first in line to pick it up.

Pitchfork has announced the Pitchfork Music Festival Paris this October 28-29.

Mashable reports that Pandora now has 100 million registered users. Personally, I used the service more when it had fewer ads. That’s why I prefer Soundtracker.fm at the moment. Along with the 100 million users, Pandora is also switching from a Flash based interface to HTML 5, which means nothing to normal folk but is awesome to us tech nerds.

Is everybody else as excited as I am for the last Harry Potter movie?

There is a new Evil Dead film in the works and Bruce Campbell is involved somehow. If you can stand all the annoying ads and crap on their website, head on over to Dread Central for more details. This is better news then the Buffy re-boot for sure.
