My god, during Easter there’s tons of sugary goodness around.
My grandma makes a cake in the shape of a lamb, thick with white frosting to resemble wool; and jellybeans for eyes sitting on a bed of green dyed coconut strips for grass. The Easter bunny comes around and he hides cadbury eggs, instead of the hardboiled & blessed variety. (Lest he forgets where he hid one. It’s happened.) Then there’s the chocolate bunnies. They seem to alternate year to year, but it’s always a surprise — are they solid or are they hollow? “No Mas” by Javelin, is a hollow chocolate Easter bunny. Let me explain:
Now, amidst all the sugar, it’s usually a relief to pick up the bunny and find that it’s hollow. You get to have the chocolate goodness; sweet, tasty, rewarding, and all the while being nostalgic. This album by Javelin is a lot like that. It’s flavorful and its nostalgia are the individual songs’ throwback to 8bit video game soundtracks, funk, lounge, ‘70s orchestral porn and ‘80s movie soundtracks — always being electronic at the core. The album isn’t a full meal, just a nice, many coursed appetizer combo when you fancy.
En sum: If Dan Deacon is your solid chocolate bunny, often filled with electronic overload, this album by Javelin is that nice hollow bunny. Huge in presence, but just the right amount; falling apart at times, but always tasty.

This is the shittiest goddamn review I've ever read. You say absolutely nothing about the album, just continue nursing your tortured analogy.
