NXNE 2012 – Sexy Mathematics and Dirty Nil

width=620

Sexy Mathematics rock through some electro rock at The Detour in Toronto on June 13, 2012.

The best way to make mathematics sexy?  Well, make it your band name, Sexy Mathematics, play NXNE at The Detour in Toronto and rock some socks off!

Sexy Mathematics ripped through a vicious set of grunge meets new wave meets synth meets Lights look-a-like band member.  Kind of a stellar music combination if you ask me.

Check out some of their tunes here http://sexymathematics.com/wordpress/

But their set overall expanded the mind.  The melodies were unforgettable, along with the back up vocals and grunge-distorted bass lines.

With each song, more and more people packed the narrow Kensington bar.

Following the four piece electro indie dance rock set, The Dirty Nil took the stage.

And as expected, they trio played their hearts out, faces beat red from screaming to David Bowie and Led Zeppelin covers.  They also busted through some of their signature songs like Cinnamon.

The Dirty Nil also hit some obstacles throughout their set.  Like microphones falling apart and a bass player taking a quick pre show piss.  And to much surprise, the small little bar was crammed and moshing to the dirty fuzz.

A great way to kick off NXNE 2012.
