Due to the volume of requests, we are not taking any new submissions at this time.
Here at Sock Monkey Sound we love listening to new music and sharing our thoughts with our readers on music we find. While we do locate a fair amount of new indie stuff out there on our own; it’s difficult for us to find small, local bands that are outside of our locale. We receive submissions from indie bands and artists all over the country asking us to review their work and we try to oblige them the best we can. If you would like to submit your music for review please follow these submission guidelines.
To Submit your music for review please contact us at reviews@sockmonkeysound.com
with the subject line “Indie Music Review”.
Please include:
- your name or organization
- your bands name
- a zip file with your music in MP3 format or
- a link to where we can download a copy of your work for review
- a link to your Website, Facebook, or MySpace
Please be aware that we will review music in the order it is received and will do so as time permits. We all have full time jobs and sometimes life just gets in the way. Occasionally emails get lost in the shuffle and we might miss something at first, please be patient. If you contacted us in the hopes to have something reviewed before a certain date, i.e.- to help promote a show, we will do our best to get it up before then but we cannot guarantee that as a service. Keep in mind: the earlier we receive a request, the better your chances. If we have too many submissions waiting in line, Sock Monkey Sound reserves the right to not review your submission if time does not permit. Once again, we will review work in the order received. Warning: We will be honest and moderately intelligent as possible in our reviews of your music. If you have paper thin skin or if your ego bruises easily then please, don’t send us anything. Go play music for your friends and family at Potbelly’s or something.
